Monday Moments and a challenge

A couple years ago, my husband bought me a camera for my birthday. He broke it last week. Well, mother nature broke it, I guess, but she certainly didn't take it out of the bag after I said, "I don't know, it's windy and there's a lot of sand around here." Sure enough, when I went to take photos of one of my projects, the lens wouldn't open.

I had to laugh, though, because when I was pregnant with Gabe, his mother bought him a camera for his birthday, and I dropped it in my friend's driveway and killed it. I have decided there will be no more cameras for birthdays, ever.

Two broken cameras and one working one with a death rattle (from sand getting in it at the beach...we don't learn) have finally convinced us that we need to be waterproof, shockproof, dust-proof camera people. So we bought one in a great Labor Day sale, and took it to the beach this weekend.

There were a lot of completely unnecessary underwater photos just because we could.

And some hazy photos of the kids because Caroline grabbed the lens area and wiped sunblock on it. We're definitely going to have to bring a cleaning kit with us next time!

Amy's Creative Side

On a completely unrelated note, Amy is hosting a challenge again, and I need some serious motivation to get fabric cut for the next project I want to do. I'm obsessed with the mini quilt pattern that I bought at the AQS Show, but I want to make it out of scraps, and the only way to know if I have enough is to measure and cut pieces! I hate cutting, but I need to get this out of my head (and off of my ironing board)!
